Powering the Transition: Coalescing Filter Vessels for Efficient Turbine Operations

Last week, we delivered three (3) ACF-12-36-725 Coalescing Filter Vessels to a custom air and gas compression solutions provider in the Western U.S. These filters will ultimately serve an electric utility in the Southeastern U.S., which is transitioning from coal-burning units to cleaner turbine systems for power generation.

Combustion turbines operate similarly to jet engines: air is compressed, combined with natural gas or oil, and ignited. The resulting high-temperature gases expand through turbine blades, turning generators to produce electricity.

Our coalescing filter vessels will play a critical role in this process by removing oil and other liquid contaminants downstream of the compressor. Coalescing filters are essential in compressed air systems, effectively capturing fine particles, water mists, and oil aerosols to ensure clean and efficient operation.
