Managing Water Content In Systems by Using Separators, Vanes, and Steam Traps

What is Occurring?

Steam is used throughout in a wide range of application in the production of food for human consumption and animal feed.  If the water is heated beyond the boiling point, it vaporizes into steam.  Steam is water in the gaseous state. Not all steam is the same. The properties of steam vary greatly depending on the pressure and temperature to which it is subject. Controlling the dryness (moisture/liquid water content) is important based on the application.

The Solution:

Our Separators, vanes, and traps help manage water content in the system. Separators and Vanes are used to remove entrained water from air or steam as it is transported. Removal of aerosols is achieved by controlling the velocity and direction of flow to achieve impingement of the droplet for removal.

Steam Traps Steam traps are automatic valves that mechanically remove condensate (i.e. condensed steam) and non-condensable gases such as air without letting steam escape. Steam traps are used in such applications to ensure that steam is not wasted.

Applications:

  • Heating/Sterilization

  • Propulsion/Drive

  • Motive

  • Atomization

  • Cleaning

  • Moisturization

  • Humidification
