Here’s a look at one of our Jerguson® Magnicator® Magnetic Level Indicators installed on a process tank at a chemical processing facility. You’ll notice something different—this gage is inverted. The gage is inverted due to limited lower clearance. The gage being inverted allows the operators to easily access the float from the top flange. This magnetic level indicator is also equipped with SAS-16™ Snap-Action Switches. SAS-16 Switches can be used as a low, low-low, high, or high-high alarm.

About Jerguson® Magnicator® Magnetic Level Indicators

The Magnicator® is connected to the process vessel and houses a sealed float with a permanent magnet assembly inside the column. As the liquid level in the tank changes, the float rises or falls accordingly. Outside the column, the indicator stays completely isolated from the process fluid. The float’s magnet turns indicator flags up or down, giving operators a bright, clear readout of the internal level.

Magnetic Liquid Level Indicators are an attractive alternative to sight glasses for many applications. They provide:

  • Improved visibility

  • Reduced maintenance

  • Eliminates leak paths associated with sealing glass

    • Reducing leak paths is critical amongst many users for flammable or toxic service
