Typical Service Life of an Armored Glass Gage

Updated: Aug 17, 2023

We often get asked, "What is the typical service life of an armored glass gage?"

We had Jerguson Product Manager, Robert Bolin, answer this important question: "In general an armored glass gage will provide at least a year of service before needing to be maintained. This can vary wildly, based on the application that it is installed in. We have gages in non-critical service that have lasted in excess of 20 years. A key feature of a Jerguson armored level gage is that it contains a recessed gasket surface that allows you to re-mill rather than replace a gage. This allows you to maximize the service life of the equipment."
